Hakata Light Up Walk / Sennen Koya is coming soon again. This annual event is held in hope that the town of Hakata will remain in glittering prosperity forever.

Many historic temples and shrines lit up in the darkness of autumn night beautifully and in various patterns will surely take your breath away.

The Hakata-ori textile theme will be incorporated in the patterns and designs of shrine and temple light up this year. Also, four sites including Ryuguji Temple, which is known for possessing the bones of a mermaid, will be newly added to the list of the event venues.

Enjoy a long atmospheric night in autumn with “night market,” which will feature gourmet food stalls, “tea party” and various other events.

*Presenting Light Up Walk Ticket is necessary. The place will be taken in Joten-ji temple, on the sanctum side.

Ticket Price on the Event Day 1,300 Yen

– Admission fee does not apply to junior high school students and under (when accompanied by parents)

– Ticket is sold in a 11 ticket set and each ticket is applicable to one time entry to the event venue where the admission fee applies.

– Admission ticket is available anytime during the event period.

– Entrance tickets (Numbered tickets) might be issued only at Jotenji Temple depending on the degree of congestion on the day.
