International Lions Clubs Convention is to be held in Fukuoka in 2016

The world’s largest service organization Lions Clubs International selected Fukuoka as the site for their international convention in 2016. The LCI’s Interntaional Convention is the largest scale of all events organized by Lions Clubs, gathering 15000 to 25000 club members from all over the world.

After an intensified competition with 5 other cities in the world, Manchester England, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, New Orleans and Boston USA, Fukuoka was designated to be the site for this massive assembly from 24^th to 28^th of June, 2016.

Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau on behalf of Fukuoka City would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the indispensable support by International Director Furo of LCI, the cooperators from Fukuoka Prefectural Governor to convention facilities including convention zone and Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome, as well as hotels of the cities who made it possible for us to coordinate the bid paper with criteria of 6000 hotel room block per day.

We regard this as the collective potential of Fukuoka, that makes us confident to help LCI successfully hold the 2016 convention.
