In June 2013, the city of Fukuoka was selected by the Japan Tourism Agency as a “Global MICE Strategic City.” 

With the goal of further improving international competitiveness moving forward, the sales & promotion division within the Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau (address: 4F, Fukuoka Bldg., 1-11-17 Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka-shi) was strengthened, and the section was re-launched as “Meeting Place Fukuoka” (or MPF). 

In the time since MPF’s launch, the organization has been hiring personnel with the technical knowledge required for MICE promotion, as well as accepting dispatched workers from MICE-related organizations, in order to improve research, sales ability, and other working functions.

 The organization is now prepared to begin operations (a separate organization chart is enclosed). 

The MPF logo has also been completed, with a slogan that reads “Fukuoka: A shining city where people gather.” 

In the future, we will continue to contribute to the local economy through the implementation of more and more MICE promotion initiatives, while also working to develop Fukuoka into a strong and competitive international hosting city on a world-wide level.

MPF’s New Logo Concept

“Fukuoka: A shining city where people gather.”

Meeting points are used all over the world, and using this symbol expresses our city as a shining gathering place for visitors from all kinds of places. 

The shining aspect is shown with the color yellow, which also adds visual appeal, improving the logo’s overall performance. The deep blue used for the background and logo mark represents the relationship of trust that supports all our business transactions.
