This facility is the world’s first hydrogen station where hydrogen is produced from sewage and supplied to “fuel cell vehicles (FCVs)”, a type of eco car. You can inspect the technologies jointly developed by Kyushu University, Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha, Ltd. and Toyota Tsusho Corporation as the first phase of the “Hydrogen Leader City Project” promoted by Fukuoka city aiming to realize a hydrogen energy society.

Japan’s largest seawater desalination plant
The plant is Japan’s largest facility of this kind capable of producing up to 50,000 m3 of fresh water per day by desalinating seawater. In order to produce high-quality, stable fresh water without being affected by weather conditions, the plant introduced the world’s most advanced technologies. At the plant, you can inspect various technologies such as the seawater desalination system. In addition, you can compare fresh water produced in the plant with tap water, and feel the difference in their tastes.
